Korea- Operation Manager
JOB OVERVIEW
As an Operation Manager, you would be responsible for the entire Hotel operation. His scope of responsibilities covers the financial results (revenue, cost of sales, payroll & related expenses, other expenses, departmental income, gross operating income, net operating income) of the hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Operations
Overseeing the overall operation of the hotel through managing cost, maintaining guest satisfactions, brand standards, maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees
Maintain good working relationship with the owners, local authorities and stakeholders
Analyse, assist, troubleshoot and provide creative solutions to business and operational challenges
Knowledgeable in creating the hotel’s annual budget and monitor the performance of hotels through the year
Ensure optimum occupancy and average room rate to maximize the revenue
Control the operations with regards to the brand standards, revenue and cost
Monitor present and future trends in the market, practices and systems in the industry and establish the action plan
Examine, analyse and evaluate hotel operations to ensure adherence to company and Standards Operating Procedures and Policies
Work with hotel team on timely submission of month end reports to owners and corporate office
Evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically
Expected to be on calls 24 hours a day in event of emergencies or other urgent situations
Supervisory
As a supervisor you will be a role model, sharing your expertise and continually inspiring the front office team
Train, direct the work of, resolve issues/problems and coach and counsel the team members to ensure a quality operation
Involve in the selection and hiring of team members for Operations department.
Responsibilities and means
Performs his duties within the framework as defined by the chain or hotel norms and internal regulations.
Administrative responsibilities
Proper maintenance of all Administrative and legal documents (books, staff salaries, medical, labor inspection, security control and foreign manpower)
Submission as and when required of all accounting documents.
Application of laws in the areas of prices, labor security, safety, customer protection etc. He should have at all times, up to date, legal information materials.
Maintenance of all administrative procedures implemented by General Management.
Technical responsibilities
Quality of the product.
Control of hotel techniques and applications by the staff.
Staff adherence to product spirit and follow-up.
Applications of the inspection norms established by the group.
Sales & Pricing policies.
Establishment of the Hotel’s Operating Budget and Financial forecast.
Special care and control of cash flow by keeping the Account Receivable (City Ledger) as low as possible as well as a minimum operating stock.
Proposal of the annual Capital Investment program and justifies the proposal.
The providence of all legal and internal documents.
Keeping in proper shape and conditions, all permanent assets of the hotel.
The perfect functioning of all equipment is to establish a preventive maintenance program.
The application of a Security policy and procedure.
The decoration of aspects of the hotel to create the best possible ambiance and atmosphere for the guests and patrons, keeping in mind the spirit and positioning of the product in coordination with the Executive Committee members.
Commercial responsibilities
Establishment and proposal to the General Manager / Hotel Manager, the hotel’s Marketing Plan and to ensure that once approved, the contents of which are enforced.
Public Relations of Travelodge and the hotel in the community
Collaboration with the Director of Sales to elaborate on sales strategies.
Commercial and Guest (complaints and compliments) correspondences.
Guest reception standards in the lobby and restaurants.
Others
Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager Hotel Manager or Travelodge Corporate management (including Country General Manager).
RELATIONS
In the event of the absence of the General Manager / Hotel Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the entire Hotel operation.
Be liable in answering the Owning Company as well as the Corporate Office.
LIMITS OF AUTHORITY QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
May not make policy changes without the approval of the Travelodge Regional Office and General Manager
May not make any statements to the press regarding the company
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Diploma or Degree in hotel management, hospitality or service-related discipline
Proven experience as Operations Manager or similar capacity in a hospitality industry
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
Sound knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Experience with running a limited-service hotel operations and its financial aspect
Competent level of IT proficiency
